Waslee Downs

Waslee Downs is 250 kilometres north of Perth in Western Australia. The farm’s 1,300 hectares of sandy soils and access to an underutilised water resource made it a suitable place for MCWA to end their search for a property to plant eucalyptus polybractea. The MCWA team has been able to quickly develop Waslee Downs into Australia’s most productive eucalyptus oil farm.

The eucalyptus crop is being rolled out on a staged basis which has meant that there is still a place for mixed cropping and livestock at Waslee Downs. MCWA has successfully integrated the livestock into their eucalyptus crop weed for control and by doing so we have cut down on chemical usage.
